What counts as additional loading/unloading assistance?

Normal help with a straightforward collection or delivery is included. The additional assistance charge applies when the driver is required to do materially more than would reasonably be expected for a simple collection or delivery — for example repeated trips with multiple items, substantial hand-loading or unloading, stairs, carrying goods a significant distance, pallet breakdown, stacking or positioning.

If you're unsure, leave it unticked and tell us about the goods when requesting the quote.

Which vehicle size do I need?

The sizes below are a guide to the approximate usable cargo space. Manufacturer names for wheelbase and body length vary, so use the load length and examples as a practical comparison.

Small Van

Compact load space

Similar in size to a VW Caddy, Citroën Berlingo or similar.

Typically suited to parcels, boxes and small equipment.

SWB

Approx. 2.4 m internal load length

Similar in size to a Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro or similar.

Typically suited to multiple boxes, smaller furniture and equipment.

MWB

Approx. 3.0 m internal load length

Similar in size to a shorter Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit or Citroën Relay-type van.

Typically suited to larger consignments, furniture, pallets and longer items.

LWB

Approx. 4.0 m internal load length

Similar in size to a long-wheelbase Transit, Sprinter, Relay or similar.

Typically suited to long or bulky items, larger loads and multiple pallets.

XLWB

4.0 m+ internal load length

Similar in size to an extra-long Sprinter, Relay, Renault Master or similar.

Luton

Large load area

Usually supplied with a tail lift. Box body or curtain-sided vehicles can be provided on request.

Typically suited to furniture, bulky goods and higher-volume loads.

Waiting timeUp to 30 minutes loading or unloading time is included at each location. Additional waiting may be charged later in 30-minute increments.

Your estimateLondon zone mileage is detected from the route. Congestion Charge is added automatically where the route enters the zone. Tolls, parking or unusual access costs may be added when we confirm the booking.
