Information we collect

We may collect information you give us when you contact us, request a quote or arrange a booking, including your name, company or organisation, email address, telephone number, collection and delivery details, item information, access instructions and the content of your enquiry.

When you submit the website contact form or send a quote request from the calculator, the information you enter is sent securely to our website API and delivered to Cranleigh Couriers by email using Resend, our transactional email provider. The form information is used to deal with your enquiry or quote request.

The quote calculator itself works in your browser. Entering mileage, vehicle size or journey options does not send those details to us unless you choose to submit the estimate as a quote request. If you choose to allow Google Analytics, we may record limited, non-identifying interaction information such as whether the calculator was opened, whether an estimate was generated, the vehicle category and a broad journey-distance band.

Like most websites, our hosting systems may also process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser information, request time and requested page.

How we use personal information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, arrange and perform courier services, communicate about bookings, maintain business and accounting records, protect the website and business, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis may be taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, complying with a legal obligation, or your consent. Google Analytics is only loaded when you have chosen to allow analytics.

Who we share information with

This may include website, email and IT service providers; drivers or delivery partners where necessary to fulfil a booked service; professional advisers; payment or accounting providers; and public authorities where disclosure is required by law. Website form submissions are transmitted using Resend so they can be delivered to our business inbox.

If you accept analytics, website usage information is processed using Google Analytics. We do not use the website Google tag for advertising or personalised advertising.

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we expect appropriate data-protection safeguards to be used as required by applicable law.

How long we keep information

We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it. The appropriate period depends on why the information was collected, whether an enquiry becomes a booking, our continuing relationship with the customer, and any accounting, tax, insurance, legal or dispute-resolution requirements that apply.
